Silicone Toe Prosthesis

A silicone toe prosthesis is a custom-made toe that restores the look of a toe lost to an accident, diabetes or surgery, or a toe that is short from birth. We make them for a big toe, a single smaller toe or several toes, shaped from your other foot with the toenail and skin tone matched.

Who it is for

Who it suits

  • A big toe, or one or more smaller toes, have been lost
  • A toe is short from birth (brachydactyly), or lengthening surgery was stopped
  • You want to wear sandals or go barefoot without the gap showing
A toe prosthesis restores appearance. We do not claim it changes how you walk; if walking is a concern, please talk to your doctor or rehabilitation specialist as well.
How it is made

Made for you, step by step

Typically three visits and about 4–6 weeks from consultation to delivery. A rapid option of 1–2 weeks may be possible, depending on your case.

01

Casting & skin-tone measurement

We take a mould of your affected area and your other side, scan in 3D, and measure your skin tone with E-SKIN digital skin-tone matching (SPECTROMATCH, UK).

02

Check-socket fitting

You try a check socket (a trial socket) so we can confirm fit, length and shape before the final piece is made.

03

Delivery

Colour and details are finished by hand, and we fit the finished prosthesis with you and explain how to care for it.

At the check-socket stage we confirm length and pressure points before the final piece.

Cost

What decides the cost?

We do not publish prices, because every prosthesis is made for one person. What it costs depends on:

  • How many toes are missing, and which ones
  • How the remaining foot is shaped, and how the prosthesis is held on
  • Colour and detail work, such as toenails and skin texture
  • Whether you need the rapid option

Send us photos and we will give you a personalised quotation before you book any travel.

Care & lifespan

Living with your prosthesis

  • Wash it with a mild detergent after use and let it dry fully.
  • Put it on and take it off gently — never force it. We show you how at delivery.
  • Silicone and its colour change gradually with use, moisture, heat and sunlight, so every silicone prosthesis eventually needs replacing. There is no set number of years: it depends on how often you wear it, how you care for it and your environment.
  • We provide after-sales support while you use it. If a repair is not possible, we guide you through a remake — your production records are kept, so a remake does not start from zero.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

QCan I get a prosthesis if I have lost only my big toe?

AYes. We use your other foot as the reference for length and shape and make it to measure.

QWill people notice it when I wear sandals?

AWe match the toenail and skin tone and aim for a toe that looks natural in sandals or barefoot. Results vary from person to person.

QWill a toe prosthesis change how I walk?

AIts purpose is appearance, and we do not promise a change in walking. Please discuss walking with your doctor or rehabilitation specialist.

QI sweat a lot. Will that be a problem?

AA band-style toe prosthesis can trap sweat, so we may suggest wearing a thin toe sock inside it. Let us know at consultation.

QI am still in hospital. Can I start a consultation?

AResearching your options early is fine. The right time to make the prosthesis depends on how your wound heals, so please check with your medical team first.

QHow much does a silicone toe prosthesis cost?

AWe do not publish prices, because each one is made for one person. Send us photos of both feet for a personalised quotation.
