Silicone Hand Prosthesis

A silicone hand prosthesis is a custom-made hand — and, if needed, forearm — that restores the appearance of a hand lost at the wrist or above. Ours is shaped from your other hand, filled with silicone throughout and colour-matched to your skin, with no visible seam between hand and forearm.

Who it is for

Who it suits

  • The whole hand has been lost at the wrist (wrist disarticulation)
  • The arm has been lost between the wrist and the elbow (forearm, transradial)
  • Loss above the elbow or at the shoulder, where the shoulder line matters too
  • You want a prosthesis for social life and events, alongside or instead of a functional hand
A silicone hand prosthesis focuses on appearance and does not grip on its own. If you need grip, see our myoelectric hands — a silicone cover can also be discussed for some of them.
How it is made

Made for you, step by step

Typically three visits and about 4–6 weeks from consultation to delivery. A rapid option of 1–2 weeks may be possible, depending on your case.

01

Casting & skin-tone measurement

We take a mould of your affected area and your other side, scan in 3D, and measure your skin tone with E-SKIN digital skin-tone matching (SPECTROMATCH, UK).

02

Check-socket fitting

You try a check socket (a trial socket) so we can confirm fit, length and shape before the final piece is made.

03

Delivery

Colour and details are finished by hand, and we fit the finished prosthesis with you and explain how to care for it.

Our all-silicone arm is formed as one continuous piece. The socket that wraps your arm is made of silicone, not plastic or PVC.

Cost

What decides the cost?

We do not publish prices, because every prosthesis is made for one person. What it costs depends on:

  • The level of amputation — wrist, forearm, above the elbow or shoulder
  • How the arm is shaped, and how the prosthesis is held on
  • Colour and detail work, such as nails, veins and skin texture
  • Whether you need the rapid option

Send us photos and we will give you a personalised quotation before you book any travel.

Care & lifespan

Living with your prosthesis

  • Wash it with a mild detergent after use and let it dry fully.
  • Put it on and take it off gently — never force it. We show you how at delivery.
  • Silicone and its colour change gradually with use, moisture, heat and sunlight, so every silicone prosthesis eventually needs replacing. There is no set number of years: it depends on how often you wear it, how you care for it and your environment.
  • We provide after-sales support while you use it. If a repair is not possible, we guide you through a remake — your production records are kept, so a remake does not start from zero.
Coming from abroad

From your first photo to your flight home

Consultation is available in English by WhatsApp and email. Send clear daylight photos of your affected area and your other side, and tell us what you would like to do again. We reply with an honest assessment, the recommended prosthesis, the expected number of visits and a personalised quotation — before you book any travel.

  • Our studio is in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, near Yangpyeong Station (Line 5).
  • Appointments are required; we reserve a consultation slot for your visit.
  • With the rapid option, some prostheses can be completed within a 1–2 week stay.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

QCan a silicone hand prosthesis move?

ANo. A silicone hand prosthesis focuses on appearance and does not grip on its own. If you need grip, a myoelectric hand opened and closed by muscle signals may suit you.

QWhat makes a hand prosthesis look unnatural?

AUsually its shape, its weight and texture, or its skin tone. We shape it from a mould of your other hand, fill it with silicone throughout, and match skin tone with E-SKIN measurement.

QCan you make one if I have lost my arm at the shoulder?

AYes. We also make silicone prostheses that restore the shoulder line after shoulder disarticulation. We assess what suits you after seeing you in person.

QHow often does a silicone hand prosthesis need to be remade?

AThere is no set number of years. It depends on how you use it, changes to your arm and wear. We keep your production records, so a remake does not start from zero.

QHow long does it take?

ATypically three visits and about 4–6 weeks from consultation to delivery. A rapid option of 1–2 weeks may be possible, depending on your case.

QHow much does a silicone hand prosthesis cost?

AWe do not publish prices, because each one is made for one person. The cost depends mainly on the level of amputation and the detail work. Send us photos for a personalised quotation.
