Silicone Partial Hand Prosthesis

A silicone partial hand prosthesis restores the appearance of a hand that has lost several fingers or part of the palm. Depending on what remains, it is made either as a glove-type prosthesis that covers the hand, or as separate finger prostheses — shaped from your other hand and colour-matched to your skin.

Who it is for

Who it suits

  • Several fingers and part of the palm have been lost, but the wrist remains
  • The thumb remains and the other fingers are missing, or the other way round
  • Both hands are partly affected and each needs a different type
  • You have tried a hand prosthesis before and it looked or felt unnatural
A silicone partial hand prosthesis focuses on appearance; how much it restores grip is limited. If you need grip for work, we can also discuss partial-hand myoelectric fingers or titanium semi-automatic fingers.
How it is made

Made for you, step by step

Typically three visits and about 4–6 weeks from consultation to delivery. A rapid option of 1–2 weeks may be possible, depending on your case.

01

Casting & skin-tone measurement

We take a mould of your affected area and your other side, scan in 3D, and measure your skin tone with E-SKIN digital skin-tone matching (SPECTROMATCH, UK).

02

Check-socket fitting

You try a check socket (a trial socket) so we can confirm fit, length and shape before the final piece is made.

03

Delivery

Colour and details are finished by hand, and we fit the finished prosthesis with you and explain how to care for it.

The part that wraps your affected area is made of silicone, not plastic or PVC, and sensitive areas are designed with softer silicone.

Cost

What decides the cost?

We do not publish prices, because every prosthesis is made for one person. What it costs depends on:

  • How much of the hand is missing, and whether a glove-type or separate fingers suit you
  • How the remaining hand is shaped, including sensitive areas
  • Colour and detail work, such as nails, skin texture and two-tone skin
  • Whether you need the rapid option

Send us photos and we will give you a personalised quotation before you book any travel.

Care & lifespan

Living with your prosthesis

  • Wash it with a mild detergent after use and let it dry fully.
  • Put it on and take it off gently — never force it. We show you how at delivery.
  • Silicone and its colour change gradually with use, moisture, heat and sunlight, so every silicone prosthesis eventually needs replacing. There is no set number of years: it depends on how often you wear it, how you care for it and your environment.
  • We provide after-sales support while you use it. If a repair is not possible, we guide you through a remake — your production records are kept, so a remake does not start from zero.
Coming from abroad

  • Our studio is in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, near Yangpyeong Station (Line 5).
  • Appointments are required; we reserve a consultation slot for your visit.
  • With the rapid option, some prostheses can be completed within a 1–2 week stay.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

QWhat is a partial hand prosthesis?

AA prosthesis for a hand that has lost several fingers or part of the palm while the wrist remains. Ours are made of silicone and shaped from your other hand.

QGlove-type or separate fingers — which is better?

AIt depends on the shape and extent of what remains. A glove-type covers the hand like a glove and is easy to put on; separate finger prostheses suit cases where most of the hand remains. We recommend one after seeing your hand.

QWill a partial hand prosthesis help me grip?

AIts main purpose is appearance, and the help it gives with grip is limited. If grip matters for your work, ask us about partial-hand myoelectric fingers or titanium semi-automatic fingers.

QCan both hands be done at the same time?

AYes. Both can be made in the same process, with the type chosen separately for each hand.

QMy palm and the back of my hand are very different colours. Can you match that?

AYes. We measure skin tone digitally with E-SKIN and colour the palm and back of the prosthesis separately.

QHow much does it cost?

AWe do not publish prices, because each prosthesis is made for one person. Send us photos of both hands for a personalised quotation.

Partial hand loss on both hands: how are the prostheses planned?

Our customer lost the right thumb and part of the left palm. We made a single-segment thumb prosthesis and, for the other hand, an easy-to-wear glove-type.

Can a hand prosthesis match skin where the palm and back are different tones?

When the back of the hand and the palm differ in tone, we measure each and paint the prosthesis in two tones. Two glove-type hand prosthesis cases, darker skin.

Back to farm work after losing a hand: which prosthesis suits the job?

For orchard work we chose a 3D titanium semi-automatic hand over a powered one: why it suits water and soil, and the silicone palm pad sized to farm pipes.
