What decides the cost of a custom prosthesis? Five factors behind the quotation

Short answer

There is no single price for a custom prosthesis. The cost depends on five things: ① what has been lost and how much ② the type of prosthesis ③ the shape of your affected area and how the prosthesis is held on ④ detail work such as skin tone and nails ⑤ whether you need the rapid option. Because every prosthesis is made for one person, Silobionic does not publish a price list — we look at your photos and give you a personalised quotation before you book any travel.

Why is there no price list?

Two "finger prostheses" can be very different pieces of work: filling one fingertip is not the same as making four fingers together. We mould every prosthesis from your affected area and your other side, so we need to see the area before we can give you an accurate figure.

Five factors that decide the cost

FactorWhat changes
① Level of amputationA fingertip, one finger, several fingers, part of the hand, the wrist or the forearm — the more that has been lost, the more there is to make. The same applies to toes, feet and ears.
② Type of prosthesisA silicone prosthesis focused on appearance, a titanium semi-automatic finger and a myoelectric hand differ completely in structure and parts. For myoelectric hands, the hand type, wrist unit, socket and any silicone cover also matter.
③ Shape and retentionIf what remains is very short or sensitive, the way the prosthesis is held on and its inner design change. When both hands are affected, each may need a different type.
④ Detail workNails, creases and skin where the palm and back of the hand are very different tones all take more hand-finishing.
⑤ TimelineTypically three visits and about 4–6 weeks from consultation to delivery. If you need the rapid option (1–2 weeks), we discuss it with you during consultation.

What is part of the process?

Custom design, casting and 3D scanning, E-SKIN digital skin-tone matching (SPECTROMATCH, UK), a check socket (a trial socket) for fit and shape, fitting of the finished prosthesis and care instructions. While you use it, we provide after-sales support, and if a repair is not possible we guide you through a remake.

Is there financial support?

In Korea, eligible residents may receive help through schemes such as National Health Insurance and industrial accident compensation insurance. If you are coming from abroad, we explain costs and options during your consultation; some customers also have support from an employer or an insurer in their own country.

How to get an accurate quotation

  1. Two photos — clear daylight photos of your affected area and your other side
  2. What you want — whether appearance or use at work matters more, and what you would like to do again
  3. Your dates — when you could visit Korea, and any date you need it by

Send these by WhatsApp (+82-10-8261-8770) or email (info@silobionic.com). We reply in English with the recommended prosthesis, the expected number of visits and a personalised quotation — before you book any travel.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a silicone finger prosthesis cost?

We do not publish prices, because each prosthesis is made for one person. The cost depends on how many fingers and segments are missing and the detail work. Send us photos for a personalised quotation.

Can you give me a rough price by message?

We can explain what drives the cost in your case. For an accurate figure, we need clear photos of your affected area and your other side.

Is silicone more expensive than PVC?

A PVC prosthesis generally costs less, but it can stiffen and darken over time. Which material suits you depends on how long you wear it each day and your affected area.

Will I get a quotation before I travel?

Yes. We send the recommended prosthesis, the expected number of visits and a personalised quotation before you book any travel.

Does a remake cost the same as the first prosthesis?

It depends on changes to your affected area and the type of prosthesis. Your production records are kept, so a remake does not start from zero.
